Post-Season Event Recap!

Wow. 'Tis the season: days are getting longer, snow is (slowly) getting softer, and that can only mean one thing-- championship snowsport events are taking place just about every weekend! All of our NYSEF teams have been super busy during the past weekends taking part in events across the continent. Here's a quick recap:

USSA Alpine U16 Eastern Championships, Mar 6-9, Whiteface Mt

Miles Lussi and Karl Schulz teamed up in the NC team sprint competition and after some strong jumps and ripping cross-country legs ended up finishing in the silver medal slot, 6 seconds out of the win. Great racing boys!

In the individual NC event, Schulz jumped to 15th and posted the fastest XC leg to take 6th overall. Lussi placed 11th and Livreri took 15th.

Great work up there in Alaska!

XC Junior Nationals, March 1-8, Stowe VT

The XC crew headed to Stowe, VT this past weekend to take part in the 2014 Junior National Championships. With athletes from across the country competing, the NYSEF crew certainly brought their A-game! NYSEF athletes Nina Armstrong, Everett Sapp, Lucy Hochschartner, Anna Izzo and Royal McDonnell all qualified as members of the Mid-Atlantic team.

Top results included a 20th place by Nina Armstrong in the 5km classic race with Everett Sapp taking 16th in the boys J2 field. Sapp and Saranac Laker Royal McDonnell rocked the classic sprints, with Sapp making the finals before taking 5th overall in the J2 boys race, and McDonnell qualifying well to take 22nd.
